What are STAA’s Anatomy & Physiology requirements for the practitioner membership levels?

  1. We recognise that effective use of SCENAR® in therapy is not dependent on the therapist’s knowledge of human Anatomy and Physiology. Even so, fundamental knowledge of the modern understanding of how the body is made up and how its systems function set the context of our work. Also when considering the legislative and professional environment within which we work, a minimum basic understanding of Anatomy & Physiology provides an element of credence to SCENAR® in therapy.
  2. Those applying for membership who are already in a health profession (such as Medical Practitioner, Physiotherapist, Remedial Massage therapist, Naturopath, Chiropractor, RN, etc.) will, in most cases, already comply with our Anatomy & Physiology requirements. If you are not sure where you stand, please contact us with your specific details.
  3. If you have no Anatomy & Physiology qualifications, then we’re looking for evidence of learning at Certificate 4 level. This will usually involve study of about 100 hrs. You have several options available to you from units offered by Universities and other learning institutions as part of a health science curriculum, through to distance learning. Please contact us for more information.
